Workshop on Capital Gain Tax

Plexus Private Limited organized a Capital Gain Tax workshop at Regant Plaza on 25 Februrary 2011. The purpose of the event was to create awareness among the individuals of the financial sectors about the rules and regulations of the CGT law.

The main speaker of the event was Abdul Qadir Memon - a seasoned law expert and president of Pakistan Tax Bar Association. Mr Memon spoke about the details surrounding the rules of Capital Gain Tax released by the government and also highlighted the differences between the draft and final legislation.

It was discussed between the members of the audience that as the implementation of the CGT is relatively new concept in Pakistan, it will take some time for tax payers to get used to the different scenarios that apply in tax calculation.

Corporate participants in the workshop represented organizations such as Central Depository Authority, PICIC AMC, UBL funds, Adamjee Insurance, Meezan Bank, MCB Asset Management Company, Pak Qatar Takaful, Pak Brunei and several others.
